“Nightfall isn’t Halloween. It’s what happens after the door closes.”
The brief
October comes with a lot of instructions. Where to go. What to wear. What to be. Nightfall is October, off duty. The good part of the day starts when the day ends, so the campaign lives in the hours most brands skip past: after the kids are down, before the house wakes up.
The world
Long shadows. Golden hour. Dusk light. Candlelight. This is not spooky darkness, it is comfortable darkness. Shadow is the mood, not menace, and it became the signature of the whole campaign. Photography leans into evening and early morning: lamps, candlelight, firelight, contrasty and moody, always solo. Motion stays lo-fi with slow cuts and long shadows, scored with warm ambient sound.
The system
One mood, three jobs: brand, product, launch. The brand line is “No costume required.” The product line is “Come for the prints. Stay for the softness.” The launch line is “Nightfall lands 9.17, 8AM PT.” The palette runs black, warm white, and a rust accent for emphasis and calls to action, with strict guardrails: no Halloween iconography, no costumes as dress-up, no smoke or fog, no bright daytime lighting.
Creative direction deck
A 39-page direction deck carried the campaign from idea to launch: concept, audience, messaging hierarchy, copy maps, palette, typography, photography and motion direction, product story, and the launch timeline. Selected frames below.
The series
The direction extended into a social photo and video series carrying the same light and grade across every frame.
The campaign, live
Selected pieces from the launch, made by the team under this direction: the teaser, launch emails, and product stories.
Outcome
Nightfall dropped September 17 at 8AM PT and ran across Cozy Earth’s social channels through the fall, with the teaser sequence, launch video, and product series all working from the same direction deck.
